VISITING GERMANY

If you are visiting Germany, there are plenty of opportunities for you to taste delicious wines in beautiful locations. Even if you are just popping over to Germany for a short break, there is always time to visit a wine producer for a tour of the winery and vineyard.

Just follow the links below for information on wine regions within easy reach of major German airports:

If you are flying to Frankfurt, click here for travel information on the Rheingau and Rheinhessen regions, and here for the Pfalz

If you are flying to Cologne, click here for travel information on the Ahr

If you are flying to Stuttgart, click here for information on Württemberg

Autumn is the ideal time to visit as the weather is usually sunny and warm and if conditions are right you may be able to see the harvest taking place.  It is also the best time to visit wine festivals, which take place in many wine regions in autumn.  You can try the local speciality of Federweißer, grape juice in the process of fermentation.

A fun and healthy way to explore Germany's wine regions is by bike, and there is a great network of cycle routes. For further information on cycling networks and bike-friendly accommodation, visit Bett & Bike.
